The Asian American Civic Association began in 1967 as the Chinese American Civic Association to meet the social and cultural needs of first and second generation Chinese-Americans. By 1990, CACA was providing comprehensive educational and immigration assistance to Asian immigrants. In 1992, the organization changed its name to the Asian American Civic Association (AACA) to better reflect its mission. AACA operates three programs:
